Kamari

Kamari is a seaside village on the southeast side of Santorini island. It has a 3 km long black sandy  beach which is one of the two most popular beaches. Though there are many hotelsrestaurants, bars – clubs Kamari has a far more relaxed atmosphere than Thira. There are all the usual water based activities plus a regular water taxi to take you round the headland to neighboring Perissa. Kamari was built by residents of the nearby village of Episkopi Gonia (also Mesa Gonia), which was almost flattened by a devastating earthquake that hit Santorini in July 1956
