Santorini is an island  of extreme and unique beauty consequently a visitor can admire all its natural beauty through unique  paths  offered for hiking activities. Hiking is a great way to explore the island. Many trails and tracks with varying degrees of difficulty throughout the island are waiting to show you the history and unique character of this world of beauties. The most well-known route is from Fira (the capital of the island) to the old port.  A route that offers incredible views of the Old and New Kameni  (the volcano of Santorini). A picturesque route where you have to get off (and therefore go up) 588 stairs! Now if the way up scares you  there is always the possibility to use the lift or  if you do not want to spoil the widget of your route, then a donkey especially for you will wait happily to carry you back to Fira!

Another trek starting from Fira is the path Fira – Oia.  The duration  is a little more than an hour. This choice will reward you and at the same time it will compensate you for your efforts since it goes through the villages of Firostefani, Imerovigli, Vourvoulos and other small and picturesque villages until the end up at Oia. There you can relax and if you like swimming,  you have to go swimming at Amoudi! It is an absolute MUST!

Now we are going to the most difficult, yet the most beautiful tracks! Our destination this time is the Monastery of Prophitis Elias!!
